A Wizards Guide to Changing Reality
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
I’m trying to use Undiscovered Physics of Consciousness to alter reality. For a little while I was calling it Magick because I was new and didn’t understand enough about the culture of these spaces. Changing reality isn’t a thing I understood was an option until very recently when I became active in occult communities and learned more about the incredibly broad and diverse forms of belief present in those spaces. People do this all the time. I really had no idea of the scope, variety, and viability of these thoughts. It also involved shifting my perspective on history and understanding my biases.
My view of things was, from my current perspective, overly simplistic and unrealistic. I viewed Magick as the stuff of Marvel movies. It’s not. Magick is the stuff of David Bowie, of the wise old women who keep villages and communities connected, and of countless other notable people and events throughout our history. Magick is energy we can’t currently measure in dimensions we can’t currently analyze.
Math is to physics as some unknown system is to Magick.
To give an idea of how this discovery felt: Some people talk about the difference between thinking “UFOs are real.” and feeling “UFOs are real!”? Magick is like that. For some people acceptance of these concepts require a logical and materialist perspective as well as a spiritual or mythic one in order to fully connect with the idea. I don’t accept what can’t be proven and also I can choose to accept what has not been disproven.
What and where is Magick?
Before I can tell you how to change reality I’ll need to define Magick. For the purpose of my work I’ve been using the following definition: Energy or information which can be measured or described and does not appear bound to our understanding of science and physics. I’m going to write some books about this.
It’s easy enough to just think “Magick can be anywhere”.
Magick is some presently unknown aspect of reality that seems to coalesce into or around people or events which plays out in dimensions of reality that we don’t know about. Yet.
Magick may not always be present
I don’t know this for sure yet (I may never know and it may not be knowable) but my suspicion is that Magick ebbs and flows and washes over reality in waves, like spacetime in the presence of sufficient mass.
I feel like I can understand this by thinking about what it’s like trying to understand history from a purely materialist perspective. There are so many unknowns. Even if Magick were not real the full details and history of every event leading up to this point is unknowable.
Some periods of history feel more dense than others. This has an impact on our lived experiences and is increasingly well understood in the sciences relating to the functioning of our brains and minds. We all have personal experience with this as well and that experience often provides us with an intuitive understanding of the concept.
I propose that Magick plays into our lived realities and we just don’t know how to measure it yet. I suspect this feels more accurate if you’ve survived multiple periods of intense history.
Ideas convert Magick into Reality
The human mind is esoteric technology. It sustains and produces patterns of energy that influence the material world. Ideas can be software for our minds. Some people design ideas that are capable of installing themselves, some ideas must be installed by the user.
Ideas look differently to different people based on individual perspectives.
Don’t think about this too much
Your body doesn’t live in a spiritual world and your body is most of your mind. You don’t even need to use Google to think of cases you’ve encountered in your life that would leave you to believing that Magick is harmful. It can be. Everyone who says some version of what I’m saying here, and there are a number of them, says this.
Mental health is a physical issue and, for some people, can be negatively impacted by spiritual health. I believe that there is a global mental health crisis and I believe that there is a spiritual or metaphysical component to some of it. I believe that it’s been exacerbated in recent years by the expenditure of spiritual energy in materialist systems that are not designed to consider the full spectrum of available energy and that this has negative consequences on us. I’m doing an imperfect job of this work and my work ethic is shared by many of the individuals and organizations that are building the materialist systems that connect every facet of our civilization.
I used to think that all of the shared challenges we face could be solved purely through non-spiritual means until one day I realized that holding that view was keeping the apex predator of colonialist thought as a house pet in my mind. For me: the enlightenment failed to prove the material world was all there was to reality and my failure to accept that view of reality was harming my ability to interact with the world.
This is not binary — it’s quantum.
How can you change realty?
- Be honest with reality
- Live in multiple timescales
- Move pebbles
- Flow with rivers
- Accept reactions
That may change though because reality changes. Assume the dimensions of reality are a dimension of reality.
How am I trying to change reality?
I’m trying to get people to really think about how they’d like the world to be and understand that they can actually change reality. I think most people don’t feel like they can think that, let alone feel like they can work towards doing it. That’s a really complicated problem. It’s often the difference between being deliberate or performative in our activism of important issues. It influences the energy of our leaders and it influences the energy we give them.
This relates directly to a number of existential threats many of us think about like social conflict, corrupt or ineffective systems of power, or climate change. I spent a bunch of time trying to think about ways to address those issues and came to the conclusion that we can most effectively address those big-picture issues by improving how we think about things collaboratively with each other in small, localized ways.
We haven’t yet finished building out what we need to solve these problems.
I’m gettin’ pretty tired, folks.
The energy expenditure required to sustain this type of thought and learn what is required to be able to form this description of reality is significant. I’ve been sustaining it for a long period of time and self-funding a number of other related efforts.
There are so many different ways to come at these problems. I’ve started putting out podcast content that I think has a lot of potential. You can see the first episode below.
Update 2022: I deleted my YouTube channel and other social media. I may eventually restart my podcast.
Energy must be replaced in order to maintain a stable state. I’m pretty good at converting material energy into spiritual energy, and vice versa, but I’m at my limit and require external support. In our capitalist system I can convert money into energy but only if people see value in what I’m doing and choose to provide me with energy.
I’ve been haranguing a variety of notable people about this and other related subjects for several years now. It would be nice to see some of them acting like they feel the way I do. I’m not sure how else we can get to where we need to go.
Content creation can’t change reality — it can only change our perception of it.
